Rising above adversity

Having faced many negative and trying times in my 45 years, and having trained professionally in the art of hypnosis, nlp and mind mechanics, I can safely say that the mind can truly bring you out of the most daunting situation, with just a little focus, time and willing energy.

As with many of us, at some point in our lives, we may well be faced with job loss, divorce, debt, bereavement, loss of a home which in turn can even lead to physical and mental health issues, as we now live in very transient times! Over time these issues can create even larger issues that we would want, but the problem will remain nonetheless.

However, there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and for this reason I would like to share with you the magic of mind over matter, positive projection and hypnosis. Now, we all know that nothing is guaranteed in life, but one thing is for sure, and that one thing is, WE are in charge of who we choose to be, how we act, and what we aim for.

It is in our perception, truth and known reality that serves our inner strength, gumption and resilience for survival itself. No matter what our situation, if we choose to relax into that situation with a certain calm acceptance, it is from that perspective that we can begin to view the solution rather than the problem itself.

So let's take a for instance in this scenario...say you have a debt, and you have just lost your job, and although it is one of the most dis empowering feelings in the world, it is still a reality, and the reality is that you are in debt with no job.

At first this reality may come as a shock, and in that shock there may be denial, anger or even shame.....all emotions however that are of little use to a positive outcome.

Over time, if we remain in a state of shock, dis empowerment, victim hood, anger, shame, panic or bitterness-we can become ill either mentally or physically...so what's the answer?

Here is a simple visualisation technique for you to use at your leisure, for when times are truly tough. Firstly make sure you will not be disturbed, and try to take a few deep breaths and relax. Focus on something pleasant like a candle, a flower or a painting. As you continue to relax, just slowly close your eyes, and focus on your breath. Now allow yourself to just sink back further into your bed, sofa or whatever and enjoy being at one with your own undisturbed space.

As you feel the stillness around you, I want you to concentrate on placing just one of your largest issues within an imaginary room within the corridors of your mind. This room has a door marked RESOLUTION ROOM. As you walk in your special room, you feel a sense of lightness and instant relief, as there are many beautiful boxes that are organised alphabetically and in colour order for you to easily find. As you find the area for which you issue is to be placed, you place that issue in that box, and feel a sense of inner calmness and knowing as you do so. The reason? because you just know that your issue will be resolved soon, which is so comforting for you.

In that instant you also know that nothing ever stays the same forever, and as things can go wrong, so that can also vastly improve! In this knowledge, you already know that you are not stuck, you are just temporarily waiting for things to improve-and they will improve, beyond doubt.

As you leave the room neatly assembled, you feel an inner calmness and power, for you know that within the next 24-48 hours, a true resolution will present itself to your mind. You are now a calm solution based individual who realised that focusing on an issue is a waste of your precious time and energy. Instead you are wise enough to pass this over to your brilliant subconcious mind.

When you have finished simply open your eyes, and come back into the room. well done!
